Title
Evolving L. Plantarum and Different Strains of Yeast
Abstract
Lactobacilli and yeast are commonly used in fermented foods and drink and can both be found in the human gut. For this project, I aim to figure out the what the long term effects of co-culturing these two species would be. Bacteria and yeast are both evolved in separate trials without co-evolution, and they are co-cultured in a media designed to foster dependence on each other. Data analysis will be done on the tenth generation, and will include growth curve analyses and any physiology changes.
