The Undergrad Research Directory is your go-to place for discovering new research projects taking place on campus. Professors can submit projects on a rolling basis to have their listing hosted on the directory. Although the Directory is categorized by department, don't allow that to limit you. Many projects in the directory look for students from across the disciplines, so feel free to explore your interests and skills outside of your major or minor and get involved in interdisciplinary research.

How to Share Research Opportunities with the Directory

The Undergraduate Research Directory is UCSB's centralized way for students to find research opportunities at UCSB, and for faculty and staff to reach students.

We have added several new search and filter functions that we hope will make it easier for students to identify the right opportunities. Anyone with a SSO can now submit, edit, and hide their own posts.

Posting to the Undergraduate Research Directory

1. Visit the Directory page.

2. Login with your university SSO in the top right corner.

3.  Select "Submit a New Post"

4. Fill out and submit the form.

5. URCA staff will review and post your submission.

Editing Your Posts

This option is only available if you submitted the post using this service starting in September, 2024. See below for instructions to edit legacy posts.
