Title
Understanding the Interplay of Brain, Body, and Behavior During the Transition to Parenthood
Abstract
This project explores how neurological, physiological, and psychological changes interact during the transition to parenthood. By examining relationships among brain regions involved in emotion and memory, mood and sleep patterns, and hormonal changes, I aim to better understand how pregnancy shapes the maternal brain and behavior. Comparing pregnant participants with non-pregnant controls will reveal how these factors uniquely interact in pregnancy. Through this research, I hope to contribute new insights into the complex biological and emotional processes of becoming a parent and gain valuable experience in interdisciplinary research bridging neuroscience, psychology, and physiology.
