Title
Statistical Regularities of Emotion Implicitly Guide Attention
Abstract
This project investigates how learned probabilities guide visual attention and whether these mechanisms extend to more complex information such as emotional faces. Using behavioral tasks that manipulate distractor statistics, this project aims to find a baseline of how neurotypical individuals learn and suppress emotional distractors. Findings will help clarify how predictive coding frameworks apply across levels of information complexity and lay groundwork for understanding disruptions in emotion processing and attention in psychosis.
