Mycelium's Alternative Application

This project investigates the industrial and biomedical potential of mycelium by synthesizing existing research, identifying gaps in the literature, and analyzing its polymer structure to inform future applications. Despite its promising properties, mycelium remains an understudied fungal material with significant potential for innovation. This study primarily employs a comprehensive literature review alongside exploratory efforts to conceptually reengineer mycelium’s structural composition into novel forms. By examining current findings and limitations, the project aims to highlight opportunities for expanding the use of mycelium across industries and to propose new directions for future research on fungal-based materials.
