Development of Carbon Fiber Linkages for a Formula SAE Suspension System

This project focuses on developing and optimizing the weight of the tie rods and push rods for the 2025-2026 Gaucho Racing Formula SAE car. The plan is to swap the current heavy steel linkages for lighter carbon fiber. This weight reduction is intended to improve the car's power-to-weight ratio. Improved power-to-weight ratio enhances acceleration, braking, and handling. The team plans to test multiple types of adhesives, with custom machined tube ends, and then testing them in Professor Fields' lab.
