Title
Design and Assembly of a Testing Jig to Evaluate Efficiency of a Formula SAE Drivetrain
Abstract
This project focuses on developing and optimizing a jig that can test the efficiency of the drivetrain for the 2025-2026 Gaucho Racing Formula SAE car by designing and manufacturing a jig that can test the output torque produced by the drivetrain. This output torque is then used to calculate the drivetrain's efficiency. The goal for this project is to design a jig that can test the drivetrain, and for the drivetrain to have an
efficiency of 85% or higher. Knowing the efficiency of the drivetrain can help validate design decisions and overall drivetrain performance without having to wait until the entire car is built.
