Title
Design and Analysis of an Undertray Solution for a Formula SAE Vehicle
Abstract
This project focuses on the design of an aerodynamic undertray device for use on the Gaucho Racing 2026 (GR26) race car. The undertray will be integrated with the GR26 aerodynamics package to increase downforce on the car while minimizing drag. Using 2D and 3D Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), a design will be developed, iterated, and improved upon to achieve a measurable increase in downforce while adhering to all integration and ruleset constraints. The information gained from this research will provide the foundational design for the GR27 and future undertrays.
