Title

Dear Me, Oh My God

Abstract

Dear Me, Oh My God is a memoir that revisits my past through the journals I kept growing up, now seen from my adult perspective. I write letters to my younger self and to the people who shaped my life. It is part memory and part reckoning—a story about growing up without a safety net and learning, years later, how to parent myself. Woven through it is a quiet rebellion against the religious guilt that shaped my early life and a search for what faith looks like when you build it for yourself. The project grows from my lifelong habit of writing everything down as a way to survive and asks what it means to turn survival into art. My hope is that Dear Me, Oh My God invites others to revisit their past with compassion instead of judgment, remembering that self-forgiveness isn’t letting anyone off the hook—it’s letting yourself out of the damn cage.
