Title
Computational Fluid Dynamics Validation and Testing of Aerodynamics Package in Formula SAE Vehicle
Abstract
This project centers on validating the aerodynamic performance of the 2025-2026 Gaucho Racing Formula SAE car by analyzing the aerodynamic flow around the whole car and quantitatively analyzing the downforce and drag produced by different aerodynamic elements, focusing on the front wing, rear wing, and undertray. Through 2D and 3D Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations, the team predicts and analyzes the effects of design variations on lift, drag, and airflow. To verify the accuracy of these simulations and support future aerodynamic development, the group will collect real-world flow visualization and force measurement data under conditions simulated in CFD.
