Plant Ecology and Restoration

First Name:

Last Name:

Project Description

We are a strongly field-oriented laboratory and use a combination of observational and experimental studies to address fundamental questions related to invasion, environmental stressors, and restoration. Our projects range from studying plant responses to fire and drought, restoring urban ecosystems, invasive species management, and understanding the constraints to successful seedling establishment for native plants.

Undergraduate Contribution

Undergraduate students will be assisting graduate students in their dissertation research. Students will learn a variety of techniques such as collecting ecological data from field transects/plots, plant propagation, native plant horticulture, plant trait morphology, collecting biomass and soil samples, measuring plant physiology, and data integrity/entry.
