Last Name:

Project Description

Our lab runs a number of experiments trying to figure out how people create meaning while listening to music. These experiments study what associations listeners have with conventional musical patterns as well as how mode of listening and listener experience influence associations, visual imagery, and musical narratives.

Undergraduate Contribution

Students may do the following, depending on stage of projects: run participants for experiments, brainstorm experiment ideas, listen and evaluate music to potentially be used in experiments, watch films with Oscar-nominated scores and write down music you hear at certain points in the narrative input data into computer programs, analyze data.
