Project Description: This is a digital humanities project which takes a comparatist approach to popular attitudes towards labor in the era of industrialization. This research will result in a peer-reviewed article. 

Undergraduate Contribution: RAs help to compile a database of popular works from newly-available digital data-bases such as the Corvey Collection, Google Books, Gallica, and others which feature labor as a central concern or theme. Information will include author, date of publication, a brief synopsis of the work, and detailed references to labor, work, and associated terms.

Requirements and/or Application Instructions: 

• a good reading knowledge French
• ability to compile and edit a simple spreadsheet on google docs
• attend research team meetings once per week
• able to work independently and keep track of hours
