Project Description

The project seeks to further understand weather and climate variability in the Santa Barbara region including the Channel Islands. Current projects include:

1) quantify and characterize long-term temperature and precipitation changes in the Santa Cruz Island, 

2) analyze fog variability and change in the Santa Cruz Island and Santa Barbara area

Undergraduate Contribution

Student will analyze meteorological data sets and learn statistical and computational techniques.

Requirements/Application Instructions

Requirements include highly motivated and dedicated students with a minimum of 2 upper division courses in Geography or related discipline. Programming skills are desired (Python for example) but not essential. To apply, contact Professor Charles Jones at cjones@eri.ucsb.edu
